Louis Montone

Attorney Louis MontoneLouis Montone, Esq., is an Associate Attorney that represents employees, employers, and unions in work-related matters. He primarily focuses his practice on employment discrimination, and unpaid wage cases, including those ranging from overtime to sales commissions. Louis also spends extensive time handling claims of retaliation, whistleblowing, and contractual representation of local unions. Louis’ practice encompasses all of the major employment laws including: Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and other related laws.

Louis graduated from the University of Florida (“UF”) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. While at UF, Louis served on the Executive Board of the American Marketing Association. After undergrad, Louis spent several years in commercial sales where he worked directly with hundreds of small business owners and two Fortune 500 companies. After a successful career in sales, Louis decided to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming an attorney and obtained his Juris Doctor from Barry University School of Law (“Barry”).

While serving in a year-long internship with the Office of General Counsel for Orange County Public Schools, Louis realized his passion for employment and labor law as he helped defend a variety of employment issues. Louis was the Founder and President of the Labor and Employment Law Association, the first student organization at Barry dedicated to this practice area. He was recognized with the Florida Bar’s Outstanding Labor and Employment Law Student Award in 2013-14.

Louis’ favorite part of law practice is meeting new clients and helping to solve their problems. Louis believes in a consultative approach to his representation, where he “teams up” with his clients to pinpoint their legal issues and then guides them throughout the litigation and negotiation process.

Louis is a first generation American and speaks Italian as a second language. He is also a Supreme Court of Florida Certified County Mediator.
